Dr. Jean-Marc Dumoulin
Orthodontist
Recipient of a Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Laval University in 1988, Dr. Jean-Marc Dumoulin established his private practice from 1988 to 1994 in Laval, offering full-time services in general, family, and cosmetic dentistry. Subsequently, Dr. Dumoulin studied full-time for two years at the University of Montreal and completed his specialist training in orthodontics in 1996.
In private orthodontic practice in Laval since 1996, he continues to seek out new techniques and actively participates in various continuing education courses each year to stay current and provide the best possible care to his patients. Also interested in teaching, Dr. Dumoulin had the opportunity to teach clinical orthodontics in the dental medicine program at the University of Montreal as well as in the multidisciplinary residency program at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, and was also in charge of clinical orthodontic teaching at the Montreal General Hospital dental clinic for dentists completing a multidisciplinary residency at McGill University.
Passionate about his work and profession, Dr. Dumoulin was actively involved for 7 years on the executive committee of the Association des orthodontistes du Québec and remains a member in good standing of the Ordre des dentistes du Québec, the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists.
In addition to his work and family, he engages in various sports, including skiing, cycling, and running. Dr. Dumoulin has participated in several races to raise funds and awareness for various causes, such as the Canadian Cancer Society. Dr. Olivier Roca
Orthodontist
In 2006, ranked 3rd out of 1500 candidates during the entrance exam for the oldest continuously operating Faculty of Medicine in the world, that of Montpellier in the south of France, Dr. Olivier Roca chose Dental Medicine, already with the desire to specialize in Orthodontics. Several times Valedictorian during his training, he completed his studies after defending his thesis on orthodontics, for which he received "Très Honorable" mention and the congratulations of the Jury. He then obtained his State Diploma in Dental Surgery in 2011.
He then practiced general dentistry from 2012 to 2016, in parallel with his involvement as President of an association of young practitioners who had experienced unequal treatment in their access to specialization in Orthodontics. He then applied to the University of Montreal where, on his first attempt, he was admitted to the highly competitive Orthodontics specialization program. During this 3-year full-time residency, he trained in the latest advances in orthodontics and attended numerous conferences in Canada, the United States, and France. He also completed a Master's in Dental Medicine with clinical research on the treatment of sleep apnea in adults using mandibular advancement devices. He had the opportunity to present his results in Canada and internationally, notably in Paris, at the congress of the French Federation of Orthodontics where he won 3rd prize in the "Young Speaker" category.
After successfully completing the examinations of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD(c)), he obtained the title of Orthodontic Specialist in 2019.
Dr. Olivier Roca is passionate about orthodontics and enjoys sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm. During his training, he fell in love with Quebec, its landscapes, and its people. He then chose to practice this beautiful specialty alongside Dr. Jean-Marc Dumoulin at OrthoLaval. He engages in various outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, or cycling, as well as slacklining, longboarding, and paragliding.
